Ken steamrolled ahead to an early victory of 7-0, and looking back, I should have quit and laughed my way home. But no, true battles go on till you realise its dark outside.lol.

There are many news articles which I peruse on a daily basis, but only a few make me chuckle with quiet amusement.

Everyone knows of our Intelligence services, such as MI5, MI6, SOCA etc.
Well what you might not know is that a new head of MI6 was recently appointed and his incredibly astute and obviously bright wife decided to post personal details and pictures of the family on guess which site? Yes you guessed it, Facebook. You might ask yourself, so what?. Let me break it down for you.

This guy is the head of MI6. Those who MI6 target could easily use those details to for example hold this guy to ransom or even worse, in order to thwart any investigation of their activities. But more importantly, MI6 is responsible for security, so it's a pretty serious security breach to have details of a serious senior figure published for all to see.

What's even more alarming is the fact that someone appointed to such an important position can allow for such laspses in judgement and plain old common sense. Let hope its a one time glitch.

With a heavy heart I have to accept Michael Jackson is no longer with us. A life filled with such achievement, respect and adoration, demonstrated my the tens of millions of fans around the world, and yet such a tragic end to a sometimes tragic man. However you remember Michael Jackson, he has done so much for people around the world and united the races with his music. No other person has and will ever have such a universal impact on the world.

May he continue to soar to greater heights up in heaven above.

Well according to most news reports, Mr Brown has admitted his guilt and submitted a plea bargain to escape jail time. Don't you just love the American system, instead of justice, you get pleas and bargaining. I'm not saying lock him up and throw away the key, but if you or I were in the same position, I doubt we would have such luck.

What I find amusing is the order issued by the judge that they must not be in the same place as eachother, within a certain amount of feet. You can just picture the next Grammy awards, chris sitting at least 100 feet away from rihanna.

So where next for Mr Brown. Well he has domestic violence workshops to look forward to, community service (yes people cleaning graffiti and picking up rubbish) and probably a rocky road ahead whilst he picks himself up.
Everyone deserves a second chance though, so good luck Mr Brown, put those dancing skills to use and you can clear up that rubbish and graffiti in half the time.

If you own a bike, make sure you have two, possibly even three chains/locks. One for each wheel and one for the bike frame itself. The above is all that is left of my beloved Trek. :(

For those that don't know (and shame on you if you live in the UK and you don't) the ASA (Advertising Standards Agency) regulates advertisements, sales promotion and direct marketing in the UK.
Basically if you find something offensive in an advert or promotion you can report it to the ASA and they may or may not act upon it. However this has opened the door to what I call the ASA Trolls, a small proportion of the population who must sit watching every advert looking for something to complain about. The above is a clear example of people with far too much time on their hands. This rather harmless coca-cola advert starring the nasally challenged Duffy received the following complaints:

Eighteen viewers complained the singer, from Nefyn, Gwynedd, was not wearing reflective clothing and her bicycle had no lights in the Diet Coke commercial.
The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) also said four viewers worried children could copy her behaviour.

After investigating (yes taxpayers you can be glad your money is being wasted investigating this crap), the ASA did not uphold the complaints, noting the "fantasy context" and deciding that older children would understand cycling round a supermarket was not a realistic situation ( Well DOH!!!!).

I'm seriously considering biting the bullet and giving into O2's incessant Iphone plugging. My contract was up for renewal about six months ago and I've been a loyal customer for over 10 years. Maybe I can wrangle a good deal out of them.
The main thing holding me back is the cost. It varies from £30 to almost £50 a month for the priviledge not to mention being tied to an 18month contract and the inevitability of a new Iphone in 12 months time.

Furthermore I have 4months left on my Orange contract which I am cancelling so I could wait until October and that way im not paying for two contracts at the same time, or see what O2 is willing to offer me.

Hmm decisions, decisions.

I had the pleasure of watching The Hangover yesterday. Here's what I thought.

The Hangover is probably the funniest film I have seen since Yes Man. The characters are all pretty hilarious but Zach Galifianakis, who plays Alan absolutely steals the show with the best lines in the film. I won't give much away as you have to see the film for yourself, but the plot revolves around Doug, played by Justin Bartha who is getting married and his friends organise a batchelor party/road trip to Las Vegas. The night begins with a few shots on the roof of their Las Vegas hotel and the morning begins with the foursome becoming a threesome as Doug ends up missing. Cue the madness that follows including a tiger in the bathroom and a very sarcastic doctor with possibly the best line in the whole film.

I highly recommend this film, so if you are at home one day and have nothing to do, grab your fella/missus or holla at your friends and take a trip to your local overpriced cinema and enjoy.

Is everything that happens in life a result of a God's will/mysterious ways? Or is it a random set of events over which we have no control?

Isn't that one of life's age old questions.
My perspective on life has changed so much over the last 8 months, where life has thrown many a curve in the path I was on. I have had some of my darkest hours, notably being made redundant and being out of work for almost 4 months and times where things have literally fallen to pieces around me. I believe rock-bottom is the appropriate term and trust me people you have to live it to understand.

But admist the doom and gloom and at the risk of sounding like a feel-good Hollywood movie, there is hope. Whether you have faith or not, believe in Allah, God, Krishna or maybe you are an atheist, there is always a shining light in the darkest of times.

Furthermore during these pressing times of global recession and loss, the only place you can go is up, so hang in there people. It will get better. I am a living example of this.
I am now working in a great full time job with the NHS, which I thoroughly enjoy and the days are that much brighter.
